This Privacy Policy explains how ScentShelf ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects your information when you use our mobile app and related services (the "Service"). ScentShelf is developed and operated by define you (Developer: Kohyun Lim).
We collect the following types of information:
- Account Information: Email and authentication data via Apple or Google sign-in.
- Collection Data: Perfume names, brands, notes, photos, wear logs, reviews, and ratings you save.
- Usage Data: App version, device OS, crash logs, and performance analytics.
- Support Messages: Information submitted via support (emails, attachments, etc.).
We do not collect sensitive personal or financial information. Collection and wear data are user-generated and stored securely.
We use your information to:
- Provide and improve core features (collection tracking, AI sommelier, wishlist, archives).
- Authenticate and protect accounts; prevent fraud and misuse.
- Generate AI-powered recommendations and scent profiles (Pro users).
- Analyze usage to enhance performance and stability.
- Send important service updates or support responses.
- Comply with legal requirements and maintain system security.
ScentShelf uses Supabase for authentication and cloud storage. All communications are encrypted (TLS). Database access is protected by Row-Level Security (RLS). Images are stored in secure cloud storage with access controls.
Data Retention:
- Account & collection data: retained while your account remains active or until deletion is requested.
- Crash/usage logs: stored temporarily for debugging.
- When you delete your account, all personal data is permanently removed within 30 days.
We use the following third-party services:
- Supabase: Authentication & data hosting.
- Apple/Google OAuth: Sign-in and identity verification.
- OpenAI: AI-powered features (Pro only). Your perfume data may be sent to OpenAI for processing recommendations and scent profiles.
- RevenueCat: Subscription entitlements, receipt validation, and refund/consumption signal handling.
- PostHog: Aggregate, de-identified usage insights.
Each third-party service operates under its own privacy policy.
- We do not sell personal data.
- We may share data with trusted service providers to operate the Service (e.g., authentication, subscriptions, analytics).
- Community posts and reviews you choose to publish are visible to other users.
- We may disclose data if required by law or to protect rights and safety.
Refund handling (Apple): To process refund requests, we may share purchase/consumption signals with Apple via RevenueCat as permitted under these Terms.
You have the right to:
- Request access, correction, portability, or deletion of your data.
- Withdraw consent or opt out of non-essential communications.

ScentShelf is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. Contact us for removal if necessary.
We may update this Policy periodically. The "Last updated" date reflects the latest version. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or email.
